Quienes somos

Manifesto

Curtocircuíto — International Film Festival was founded in 2003 by the City Council of Santiago de Compostela with the objective of promoting cinematographic and audiovisual creation.

21 editions later, Curtocircuíto is a prominent festival on the state scene that works in contact with other festivals in its environment and in Europe.

La Contemporaneity, the risk and the formal exploration they are the guides of our work. In recent years, the festival has evolved to become a interdisciplinary event which, keeping cinema as its axis, encompasses other disciplines in its programming, such as picture, the sound art, the ethnography, the music or the literature.

We believe that this dialogue between the arts that make up cinema enriches the spectator's experience and allows us, as programmers, to break certain conventions and constraints typical of traditional models. Curtocircuíto is a festival committed to its time, which supports the creation, the training And the integration of citizenship and who permanently aspires to be a playful meeting point and of reflection.
