Jonathan Rosenbaum is one of the main attractions of the thirteenth edition of Curtocircuíto. The American critic, one of the most influential and respected experts on the international scene, is visiting Galicia for the first time, where he will give a seminar designed exclusively for Curtocircuíto.
“The Impossible Cinema” will be dedicated to films that in one way or another exceed – or at least resist – the conventional boundaries of cinema in terms of length, theme, style, form, genre and/or attitude.
Among others, some of the titles presented might be:
1. I’ll Do Anything (musical version), (James L. Brooks)
2. The Asthenic Syndrome (Kira Miratova), The Last Boat (Bela Tarr)
3. Un soir, un train… (André Delvaux), Le horla (Jean-Daniel Pollet)
4. Universal Hotel/Universal Citizen (Peter Thompson), Les Statues meurent aussi (Alain Resnais), Don Quixote sequence (Orson Welles), Improvisation (Gjon Mili)
The workshop, within a theoretical framework, will take place in English at the CGAC over four three-hour sessions.
If you would like further information about the seminar, you can write to email@example.com
